Yesterday, a teacher from the four-leaf clover volunteer team brought a lively and interesting lecture on waste sorting to all of our primary pupils. They listened very attentively.?昨天中午，四叶草志愿者团队的老师为上海康德小学部的全体学生带来了一场生动有趣的垃圾分类知识讲座。小朋友们都听讲得十分专注认真。During the lecture, our pupils learned how to sort household waste (harmful waste, recyclable waste, household food waste and residual waste) and the definition of each classification, as well as the benefits of waste sorting, which include land occupation reduction, water pollution cut, and promotion of resources recycling and sustainable development. Besides, they further learned the importance of waste sorting via an interesting animated video, which showed that the garbage generated in Shanghai in two weeks could be piled as high as a Jin Mao Building. What a shocking amount!?讲座中，孩子们学习了上海生活垃圾是如何分类的（分成有害垃圾、可回收物、湿垃圾和干垃圾四大类）和每大类的定义，以及垃圾分类的好处，比如可以减少对土地的侵占、减少对水体的污染、促进资源循环与可持续发展等。另外，孩子们通过观看有趣的动画视频，更进一步地认识到垃圾分类的重要性，因为上海产生的垃圾数量惊人–两周就可以堆出一幢“金茂大厦”！Before the end of the lecture, the volunteer teacher played a waste sorting game with the pupils. Each of them got a card with the name and picture of a scrapped item and was required to classify it. As a result, most of them gave correct answers.?讲座的最后，志愿者老师还和同学们玩了一个垃圾分类的小游戏，每位同学都拿到了一张写有垃圾名称和图片的卡片，他们需要对自己的“垃圾“进行分类。结果是大多数同学都正确地完成了垃圾分类。The Shanghai Municipal People’s Government released the city’s household waste sorting scheme this March and hammered out a three-year（2018-2020）action plan this April, which indicates that by the end of 2020, the waste sorting system will have been generalized across the city’s residential areas. For our pupils, yesterday’s lecture was only the first step of learning garbage classification. Later, with the help of our Middle School students, they will make an observation of trash cans in their own neighbourhoods, classify their household waste, and then record what they have done.?今年3月，上海出台了《关于建立完善本市生活垃圾全程分类体系的实施方案》，4月又出台了《上海市生活垃圾全程分类体系建设行动计划（2018-2020年）》，提出到2020年底，上海将基本实现单位生活垃圾强制分类全覆盖，居民区普遍推行生活垃圾分类制度。本次的讲座只是孩子们学习垃圾分类的第一步，之后他们会在初中部学长的指导下详情了解自家小区里的分类垃圾桶情况，对自己家里的垃圾进行分类，并将实施情况记录在小本子上。We hope that our students can learn to correctly sort waste at an early age and create a green living environment.?我们希望孩子们从小就学会正确的垃圾分类，建设一个环保节能的生活环境。Shanghai Concord is the first International Bilingual School in Huangpu District established in 2017.
